14th October 2011.

Lilac is all fidgetty. She cannot settle to anything for very long, even grooming herself! She went to snuggle with Gene, who treats her as a young lady, not a baby. Watch carefully and you may see why it is that Lilac's fantastic, silky eyebrows and whiskers have seemed to shrink lately!

Sweet Lilac then decided to go and chat to Kori, but a rogue fly decided to practice stunt flying in the conservatory, to everyone's interest.

12th October 2011.

Our phone rang a little while ago.

It was my Forever Slave!

She talked to me and I was so happy that I couldn't find my voice to answer.

How stupid is that?

They are coming to take me home on Saturday.

I am now wondering if I imagined it. Dare I believe it?

Is my Forever Life really starting in three days time? I've still got so much to learn that it is a little scary.

11th October 2011.

I'm trying to be extra good today, as Mummy was SO cross with me last night. She found Gene and I chasing round, playing madly. Worst, I was chasing Gene's tail, Gene, the Matriarch! (She is never allowed to do this.)This morning she gave me a real telling-off, treated me as if I was a naughty baby. I was grooming myself carefully and she came and pinned me down and told me off. I so wanted to say a rude word, but I didn't. Best to say and do nothing, just get out as soon as you can, when a grown-up is like that!

8th October 2011.

It's grey today. The rain is coming in through the roof windows.

We've had to find our own shelter. Slaves!

6th October 2011.

Slave has been trying to tidy up our jungle in the conservatory.

We were happy as it was, but some good things came out of it, like LARGE spiders!

Good fun to chase, but prickly in your mouth. Don't try one, they aren't worth it.

We now have more comfortable flat places to stretch out or play.

I must be growing, because the Grown-ups are finding it harder to win at wrestling with me now and Mummy can't pick me up any more!

I wonder how I will know when I am a real Grown-up?

Everyone is wilting in the heat today.

With the boys gone, Gene treats me as if I am almost a grown-up!

24th September 2001.

With every beat of my heart, my love for this litter of Tonklets has grown until I thought I would burst. Sweet Lilac will leave us next month. My gentle, loving little girl.

How I will miss her. She is so beautiful and clever.

17th September 2011.

My Slaves are coming to visit us again today, and I am looking forward to seeing them so much that I want to wrestle with the world, but Mum will have to do!

He's not playing properly - he's supposed to give clues, not just stay still and silent. Huh, boys!

15th September 2011.

Sweet Lilac likes to play hide-and-seek with Tchai'ky. He hides under the crochet blanket and she tries her best to find him!

10th August 2011.

Well, it's come, we go to our Forever Home today!

We didn't sleep much last night, and it is so hard to keep still now. Who ever invented that stupid word "patient"? How can we be expected to sit still and be PATIENT? Sweet Lilac is caught up in our excitement, but she knows she has her own Special Day coming.

We can't help racing around though, Someone even tried to climb up inside Slave's skirt!

Oh, there is so much to look forward too. Be happy for us, our most amazing adventure ever, is about to start.

People say that they are bored with "the same old things", but we never are. We can always make up new ways to do things. Humans just lack imagination!

7th September 2011.

As we will be leaving soon, we allowed Slave to take a few photos to show you how grown-up we are now.



Jonah spotted a fly in the conservatory, then everyone joined him in the hunt. It soon degenerated into us all just 'being us'! After all, a fly isn't that important.

6th September 2011.

It's grey and dull and nasty outside. A fidgetty day, so Mum decided to give us a lesson in the art of defensive wrestling. Next came trying to put it into practice!

We will soon be going to our Forever Homes. Our real lives will begin.

Gene makes sure we are safe and warm.

5th September 2011.

We three boys can't wait for the weekend to come, when our Forever Slave comes to take us home.

4th September 2011.

Naughty us! We've been playing mad games in the livingroom and it is now a glorious MESS!

It may look as if we are sleeping. We embody elegant beauty and innocence.

But be warned, we also possess intelligence, creativity and reasoning powers that are far superior to those of any mere human, and our brains never stop working.

Never, ever underestimate a Tonk!

We are really looking forward to going to our Forever Homes now, but we still adore our Mum and she loves us. We're not too big for the Milk Bar either!

Nothing worthwhile, just the boys plotting again!

The end of a long day. Don't we look funny in the pink light? We're playing in the top of the stairwell, so we have to be careful.

Today was just purrfect, all our new wands to play with, and then upstairs to reorganise the bed and raise the dust. Just look, if you don't believe us. We like to make work for our Slave and Mr Dyson!

27th August 2011.

Soon we go to our Forever Homes, so we are making the most of 'now'.

That was Jonah cuddling up to Kori. We may be big kittens now, but we still love our Mum! A cuddle at the Milk Bar keeps us together and we will always love each other, where ever we are. Slave says that these times will be what we remember most.
